Enter the Matrix Hints
- Xbox | Submitted by Dah BombOk, this is what you do, you enter the following cheats
Unlimited Health
7F4DF451
Infinite Focus
69E5D9E4
Then you go to the level Breakout!
wich is in Post Office, then you take the door to your left, kill the dude that is standing there beiing useless, then kill the police that is coming from the door that you just went trough.
now go to the door that leads to the end of the post office, you'll get into a small room with 2 policemen and alot of boxes on steel planks, move forward, kill the police men, go backward, kill the 2 policemen that followed you. go forward and open the door, then follow the path and you'll be in the post office ending, you can train here all you want, the police men will keep respawning, thanks to your cheats you can not die and you can do focus for as long as you want.
If there are no policemen left, just walk in a little circle and they'll spawn again.
This is a quick way to practice some close combat tricks.
Also, it's fun to, when you fight in non-focus mode, press Y(yellow) all the time, every time that he's just gotten a punch, press it again, you'll hit him at his head all the time and this can go on for long, in a moment he will block the attacks you do, then just keep going and at a moment press B + Down, this'll make you do a low kick wich looks particular funny how he blocks all your attacks and then, BANG, lol..
anyhow, enjoy it :) - GameCube | Submitted by GamesRadarHacking engine tools:

If you enter the men's room you will see a guy going up a ladder. Follow him up the ladder and when you get to the top the game will say: Loading Behind the Scenes. When it's done loading you will be in the men's shower room. You will go through a different part of the level. Nothing big, but I thought it was pretty cool. It works with Niobe, but I'm not sure about Ghost.
System tools /b
When you enter hacking system tools /b you will be asked to enter a 5 digit code the code is: 10110 this will unlock droping weapons within the matrix, and other helpful things!!
Unfortunately the System tools /b code above does not work all the time. The five digit code always changes but the numbers are like three 1's and 2 zeros. Or 3 zeros and two 1's. So it would usually be something like '10110' or '00101' something like that. Luckily the hacking engine will tell you what numbers are in the right place and what numbers are correct. So just give it some trial and error tests, switch some numbers around and you will usually find the right one. - Xbox | Submitted by Scott PowellNot really a cheat, more of a hint. On the Answer the Phone level, when the agent drops in front of u, jump over 2 meet him. If he nocks u back don't worry. U have to aim precisely now. Throw the agent over the edge of the building! That will definitely dispose of him!
- Xbox | Submitted by GamesRadarTo unlock the hidden fruit of the matrix you must use the included hacking feature. You must start by going on the public drive and work from there. The side panel is very helpful in quickly accessing previously accessed commands. For example Read. exe and vibration. exe. Some of these are in the tools folder. As you go deeper it becomes easier to understand. there is a lot of cool stuff like multiplayer and other cool secrets like behind the scenes art and secrets. You can also drop weapons in levels at certain parts. I used the strategy guide which is quite helpful. It may be quite difficult but eventually you will get it. I will not give specifics but it goes quite deep. There are several drives.

DROP B1AXXF2 Weapon drop at 2nd Floor PO Boxes - PS2 | Submitted by the_hack_master24On the post office level you will see alot of green poweraid machines. Go up to one of them and press square and a Poweraid will fall out.
- PS2 | Submitted by the_hack_master26The first thing you do to get the agents gun is to put on (infinite focus, health, ammo and enimies can not see you) ,then go to any board that has grenades or explosive devices. Also make sure there's an agent on the board too. When you see him throw or shoot the grenade about 3 to 5 times and you should kill him then you will see his gun on the ground so go pick it up. You could probaly do this with out cheats but it's easier with them.
- PS2 | Submitted by the_hack_master27On the skyscraper level you are being chased by agents well just keep on running till you see a WARNING sign hold focus and just jump through it!
- PS2 | Submitted by the_hack_master22Hacking the Matrix can give you access to cheat codes, weapon drops, tons of bonus images and information, a special multiplayer fighting mode, and more.
To start, highlight hack and enter it. If you have multiple logs then just choose the log you want to hack for. You will then see a screen showing basically a computer screen. heres how to control what your doing; the X button will choose commands and press keyboard keys, the square to backspace or cancel commands, the L1 will jump your cursor over to the quick commands list, and the R1 will quickly jump to the Return key.
As you learn new commands, they will be added to the quick command list.(quick commands are the words on the left they are there so you dont have to keep on typing words ovber and over) You can use the EXIT command to stop hacking. exit and help are the only quik commands that you start out with
The first command you know is HELP. Typing HELP followed by a command, such as EXIT will give you information about that command, as well as add the command to your quick list. For now, just type HELP by itself and you will learn the DIR command. when you typ help youll always get an example in this case its HELP DIR. The DIR command lists all the files available in any directory. Type DIR by itself to see the list of directories currently available. so far you will have system, tools, and text.
Type DIR SYSTEM to see some commands in the SYSTEM folder. when you press enter youll get a list of diforent items one is reboot thats not really a good idea to type because you might have lost where your at but in this case its ok to type it just be warned that it will reboot the 'computer'.To find out about each command, type HELP then the command name. Now use DIR TOOLS to see more commands you can use. Again, type HELP then the command to find out how they work. if your not sure what it does you always need to check first, with help. One of the commands you will learn from tools is the CHEAT command. Use this command followed by a cheat code you get from this site to activate or deactivate a cheat. Finally, use DIR TEXT to see the text files. you can not read these things unless you type read and get it in your quick box. using the read command read all the texts available.
Use READ Note2.txt to learn about a password you'll need later. remember this for later or of course you can always just refer back to this folder.
type in the word LOGIN it will ask who this is and you just type guest. you logging in will access the B: drive. Just like with the A: drive youll see in DIR, use DIR to see all the directories, then use DIR on each directory to see what is in it. When you try to use DIR on the TOOLS command, it will ask for a 5 digit binary password.
Binary means just 1's and 0's, so enter any 5 digit code with just 1's and 0's. The correct code is random, but it will give you hints each time you try. Use the hints until you figure out the right sequence.
In the TOOLS directory there is the VIEW command, which you can use on any image file to view that image. Also is the PLAY command, which you can use to watch an FMV movie. Only images and movies that you have unlocked from playing the game are available.
To continue hacking, run the VIRTUAL command, and enter the password you got from the text file in the A:TEXT directory. Now you will be given a picture puzzle. The solution is random again, but there are 2 possible outcomes. One outcome will give you a warning and then a trace will start. To stop the trace, you must quickly type in TRACEKILL and press enter. If you aren't fast enough, you'll have to start all over! Then go back and try the picture puzzle again with the VIRTUAL command, and make a different picture to try to get the other result.
If you get the correct result, you will get access to a V: drive. Use DIR on the V: drive to see yet another TOOLS directory. Use DIR on it to get the ROOTSEARCH and DIAL commands. Use ROOTSEARCH and pay attention to the password it finds, and you will then be given access to the ROOT directory.
The ROOT directory has a MAIL command. Use the MAIL command and enter the password you learned from the ROOTSEARCH command to read an e-mail containing some phone numbers. Use the DIAL command followed by the first phone number in the list (just type the number, leave out the dashes) to hear a recording. Repeat for every number in the e-mail until you get a recording message and are given a 3 digit number.
To use this 3-digit number, use the PORTKEY command followed by the number. This will let you talk to a game character. Just answer the questions and you will get access to a CRACK command with instructions on how to use it. Just type CRACK 8RAM to get access to the RAM drive.
Using DIR on the RAM drive and its directories, then use the HANDSHAKE command to have another conversation with a game character. During this conversation, use the EMP command as requested. This will unlock a fun multiplayer fighting game that you can access by loading your saved game from the main menu, then pressing left until you get to the multiplayer option.
Other useful commands are DROP, which allows you to drop weapons into the game maps you have access to so you can pick them up while playing. There is also a command that gives you access to a sword, but only after you have beaten the game once. - PS2 | Submitted by the_hack_master23In the Hacking engine, instead of using 'GUEST', you can LOGIN as FREEMIND or COWBOYCURTIS to hear a message from Morpheus.
- PS2 | Submitted by the_hack_master25Type in beep.exe and type in some numbers (0-9) and depending on the numbers that you typed in, it will play a little tune.
- PS2 | Submitted by the_hack_master29To unlock the swordfight, follow these steps. Open the Hacking program from the main menu. Open a file that has the game completed. Note: You must have completed the game first in order for this cheat to work; and the game file you select at the Hacking menu must have the game completed. Type LOGIN and press Enter. Type GUEST and press Enter. Type DIR, then a space. DIR should now appear in your command list. Access the B Drive through the DIR command. Select TOOLS from the B Drive. It will be locked and will ask you for an access code. The access code consists of 1s and 0s. You must guess the access code, as it is different each time. It is only five digits long. Once you have access to the TOOLS on the B Drive, type all the .EXE files (without the .EXE after them). For example, type DECODE then a space. DECODE will now appear in the command list. Repeat this for all other .EXE files in the TOOLS folder in the B Drive. Now, access VIRTUAL on your command list. Type in FROZENFISH as the password. An authentication test will start. An image of a Chinese symbol will appear, but it will be scrambled. The image is broken into 9 squares, and each square will have five different choices. You must change all the pieces so that a complete image appears. You have a limited amount of time to do this. Once you guess a correct image, the timer will stop and you will be taken back to the hacking screen. Look at the top of the screen. If it says 'Solution: Blue', then the line will be traced and you will have to enter TRACEKILL and then press enter as fast as possible or all progress will be lost. Once you enter TRACEKILL, you will have to start back at accessing VIRTUAL on your command list. However, if it says 'Solution: Red', then you will hear a message from Neo and get access to the V Drive. Open the V Drive and get all the commands from the TOOLS folder on your command list. Open the ROOTSEARCH program. Now, open the ROOT folder in the B Drive and get the two commands there on your command list. Enter the MAIL command and type THISISNOTREAL as the password and type YES. You will get a list of phone numbers:
0019495550112
0017145550187
0012135550142
0013105550111
0019495550101
Select the DIAL command and dial 001949555010. You should get a message from Persephone. Next dial 0013105550111. You will get you a message from Trinity. She will give you a number. Select PORTKEY and enter the number. She will start to talk to you. Type NO to both questions and she will give you a program called CRACK on your command list. Open it, then type 8RAM. It should look like this: 'CRACK 8RAM'. You now have access to the RAM drive. Go to DIR on your command list and access the RAM drive. A list of folder names will appear. Open the TRINITY folder. Get the Training command on your DIR by typing TRAINING then a space. Go to your command list and select TRAINING. On you command list, a file called SWORD.DSK will come up. Select it. It has now uploaded the sword onto you character in the Matrix. Quit the hacking program and select 'Save Progress'. You can use the sword when you start that game file. It can be used in any stage, but will only a[[ear when fighting enemies by pressing Punch + Kick. You have to enter it again when you turn off the game. Go to the Hacking program, select that file again, select TRAINING, then SWORD.DSK. - PS2 | Submitted by the_hack_master21This is not a code or cheat just some advice when fighting against Seraph in the mission Seraph's Tea House you can do 2 things If you lose you will go to the last 2 missions but if you win you can see the oracle like in the movie and go through a lot more missions and see more exclusive movie clips.

- PS2 | Submitted by GamesRadarDo you people want to really know how to kill Agents well get a shotgun and shoot them about 2 times or more.
- PS2 | Submitted by GamesRadarYou cant have any guns in your hands at this time ok now defeat the other three first then vlad will come out you will know because it will say it at the top of your screen when he comes out get him down then hit him to the wall with the two bookcases hit him in between them then just keep on punching him and he will eventually die
- PS2 | Submitted by GamesRadarThis is the first level of the game just for you to know. Run into the men's room and DO NOT KILL ANYBODY OR HIT THEM. Climb up the ladder after the boring mini movie (you will see it in the men's room) you will end up in the shower room. Then you can sneak up on the hostages..'BLAM,BLAM!'
- PS2 | Submitted by GamesRadarPlaying as Ghost, go into the level in the airport 'Terminal'. At the end of the level you run down the hallway and you see three SWAT team members running towards a woman in a black suit(Binary) who is on your team. Normally you would let her gun down the three SWAT team members with her M240 and you would run in front of her and finish the level. Instead, run to the right where the SWAT team members are and kill them and get their guns. Then run behind Binary with your 'Entry Shotgun' and kill her, yes, kill her. Then this is the key, as soon as you kill her run forwards and grab her gun and keep running. You will end up in the spot where you would normally finish the level and you win with her M240. What is a M240 you might ask? It is a machine gun with a clip size of 120 and with a capacity of 2 extra clips. It also has long range, very high accuracy, and it does a lot of damage.
- PS2 | Submitted by Ryan MSee when you are fighting the agent on the plane put the infinite focus on & the infinite ammo and hold down focus (L1 default) and fire a few shots from the entry shotgun and then run up and kick the agent out the plane (you might half to do it more than once) have fun!!!!! and go kick some agent butt

- GameCube | Submitted by conorThe only way to kill agents is to hit them with a grenade launcher 3 times (it takes way too many hand grenades to kill 1). The only grenade launcher that I know of is the 1 in china town. To get it: you'll be running from agents, and there'll also be S.W.A.T. members there too. After running for a while, you'll come across a swat van with 3 swats guarding it. Shoot blankly at the truck and it'll blow up, killing the 3 swat members, and then run up to the truck (after destroying it), and on your left there'll be a ladder. Climb up it and on your left, there should be a grenade launcher. Unfortunately, it only has like 12 rounds, so you have to use them sparingly. My best recommendation would be to go into 1st person mode and shoot (that way it's more accurate, and the agents have a harder time dodging them if it's a good shot).
- GameCube | Submitted by Andy ZunigaTo get better aiming, just go in to aiming mode, zoom in as much as you can, then hold focus and press A. You will be able to zoom in more to get a better chance of disposing your enemies.
- GameCube | Submitted by Andrew AndersonStart a file as Niobe and go to the level 'Check-In'. When the level starts, immediately run forward and jump off the side of the hallway balcony. Turn a right and run towards the far right sliding door at the front of the building. Once you get there, police should be coming out of it and that's when you punch the focus button. Bust through the wall of police men and go behind the police truck. The shotgun will be lying on the ground. To get back in, just go through the sliding doors. Now you can gun them down easily. The bad thing is is that the shotgun only has 6 shots in it so either save it or try not to miss any shots.
- Xbox | Submitted by mlzbhobbsOn the level Jackson in Steam 2 right when the agent starts chasing you, you shoud see canisters of exploding fluid. If you are quick, when the agent is next to them, shoot the canisters and it will kill the agent so you can get his gun.
- Xbox | Submitted by VGMaster31To get the Agent's handgun, which is the most powerful handgun in the game, you need to be on the level where the agents are chasing you and you run to where the truck explodes (actually, this is the only level where I tried it) and have the grenade launcher. Once you get to the truck and go up the ladder on your left, stay at the top and go into first-person view. Aim down at Agent Smith (he should still be at the bottom of the ladder) and fire. His mangled body should be on the ground indicating he's dead, which I find weird, with his gun next to him.
- PC | Submitted by glockedFirst, unlimited ammo code helps a lot here. First, choose an automatic gum like ump or g29 that have a large clip. Start shooting so hell stay still and dodge. While he's dodging run backwards and throw grenades at him till he dies. that-a-way you kill him and get a pretty good pistol.

It seems slow but u gain a lot of distance. This is great for the airport tunnels in which u run from the agent. If u do it right, you'll beat the agent to that guy that he forms from at the end of the chase.

- GameCube | Submitted by GamesRadarIn the Hacking engine, instead of using 'GUEST', you can LOGIN as FREEMIND or COWBOYCURTIS to hear a message from Morpheus.

- GameCube, Xbox | Submitted by UncutgamerTo unlock the swordfight, follow these steps.

Enter the Matrix is an action-adventurevideo game developed by Shiny Entertainment and published by Atari, released under the Atari brand name. It was the first game based on The Matrix series of films. Its story is concurrent with that of The Matrix Reloaded, and features over an hour of original footage, directed by The Wachowskis and starring the cast of the film trilogy, produced for the game.[1] It sold one million copies in its first eighteen days of release, 2.5 million over the first six weeks, and ultimately 5 million copies. The success led to the game being re-released for multiple consoles' budget brands, with the PC version getting a DVD-ROM version.[2]
Released in May 2003, the same month as The Matrix Reloaded, Enter the Matrix was simultaneously produced with The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions and released for the GameCube, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

Gameplay[edit]
Enter the Matrix gives players control of two of the supporting characters from Reloaded and Revolutions, Ghost (Anthony Wong) and Niobe (Jada Pinkett-Smith), members of the same group of rebels as Morpheus, Trinity, and Neo, the protagonists of the series. Niobe is the Captain of the Logos, the fastest ship in the rebel fleet. Ghost is the ship's first mate, weapons guru, and a deep-thinking, philosophical assassin. The game takes place at roughly the same time as the events in Reloaded.
Players play as either Niobe or Ghost, each of whom have slight variations during their story. Most levels involve controlling players in a third-person perspective, using guns and fighting skills to defeat opponents and complete level objectives. At any time, players can activate bullet time (called 'Focus' in the game) which slows down time, giving players the ability to perform actions such as shooting in midair and dodging bullets. Some levels involve one on one martial arts fighting against single opponents. In levels involving vehicles, such as driving a car or piloting the Logos, the style of game play depends on the selected player, with Niobe maneuvering the vehicles to avoid obstacles, whilst Ghost takes control of a gun to fight off incoming enemies. A hacking system allows players to enter codes, which can unlock special skills, weapons and secrets, such as a 2-player versus mode.[3]
Plot[edit]
The story begins with Niobe, captain of the Logos, and Ghost, her first mate, retrieving a package left in the Matrix by the crew of the recently destroyed rebel ship Osiris. After being pursued by Agents, Ghost and Niobe escape from the Matrix with the package, which turns out to be a message to the human city Zion, warning them that the machines are approaching with an army of Sentinels. Niobe and Ghost are tasked with calling the rest of the ships back to Zion to coordinate a defense.
With this in mind, the captains of the various ships hold a meeting in the Matrix to decide on how best to defend themselves. During the meeting, Agents attack the building they are in, although Niobe and Ghost are able to help their allies escape. They then encounter the Keymaker, a program capable of accessing any area in the Matrix, who leads them to safety through a door he created. The Keymaker gives the two a key that they are supposed to give to Neo. However, the key is stolen by henchmen of the Merovingian, a program created during the early days of the Matrix who now operates an illegal smuggling ring within the program. Ultimately, the Merovingian destroys the key, but Niobe and Ghost are able to escape, when the Keymaker realizes that it is too early for the key to be given to Neo.
Niobe later volunteers to go find the Nebuchadnezzar, the ship captained by Morpheus, upon which Neo serves, and the only ship yet to return to Zion. Upon finding the ship and its crew, and helping them escape from the Matrix, Niobe and Ghost agree to help in Neo's mission against the machines, agreeing to destroy a power plant. After this mission is completed, the Oracle, a program that often gives the humans advice, requests that the player character come and speak to her. After their conversation, the player is confronted by Agent Smith, a rogue Agent that seeks to destroy both the human and machine worlds. The player character barely escapes from the hundreds of Smith copies and the Matrix. Once out, the Logos is attacked by the machines. They defeat the machines by setting off an EMP, which disables their own ship in the process. The game ends with Niobe and Ghost waiting in the Logos, hoping that they will be rescued. The two wonder what's coming but believe that it will be 'a hell of a ride.'
Characters[edit]
Aside from Ghost and Niobe, there are numerous secondary characters in Enter The Matrix.
- Sparks (Lachy Hulme) — the operator on the Logos; he gives players tips and information throughout the game.
- Vector — The first mate of the vigilant. When Axel was kidnapped by agents, Vector helps Soren get him back. Niobe found herself surrounded by police but is saved by Vector.[4]
- Smith — a program that can absorb human bodies and humanoid programs to make copies of himself; he chases the player through an abandoned skyscraper, and later, Chinatown.
- Agent Johnson — an agent who appears frequently during the game; Niobe defeats him by kicking him off a cargo plane, while Ghost defeats him by knocking him into a short-circuited computer server.
- Agent Jackson — another agent with frequent appearances in the game; Ghost defeats him by blowing up his helicopter. Jackson also tries to kill Niobe and Ghost after the crew of the Caduceus is saved, but the two were unexpectedly saved by the Keymaker.
- Agent Thompson — the least-featured Agent in the game, who only appears in cinematics; the only opportunity to fight him occurs at the end of Niobe's missions at the power plant.
- The Oracle — a program within the Matrix who often helps the humans.
- Seraph — a martial arts master who protects the Oracle; he fights Niobe or Ghost once during the events of the game.
- Morpheus — a member of the rebels, Niobe's ex-boyfriend, and captain of the Nebuchadnezzar.
- Trinity — another rebel, a good friend of Ghost, to whom she refers as 'dear brother'; first mate on the Nebuchadnezzar.
- Neo — the most important rebel; Morpheus believes he is 'The One'.
- Cmdr. Locke — leader of the Zion defence forces; Niobe's current boyfriend.
- Axel, Soren, Ballard, Bane, Vector, Binary, Ice, Corrupt and Malachi — rebels encountered during the game.
- The Keymaker — an old program who guides players through certain portions of the game.
- The Trainman — carries multiple wristwatches on his arms; he controls the link between the Matrix and the machine city, and works for the Merovingian.
- The Merovingian — an old program that has gone rogue in the Matrix; he has a chateau in the mountains wherein he has the Keymaker imprisoned; his henchmen are from early Matrix programs, and are rumored to be 'vampires' and 'werewolves'.
- Persephone — wife of the Merovingian; often betrays him out of spite.
- Cain and Abel — two henchmen of the Merovingian.
- Vlad — the black-clad, pale-skinned leader of the Merovingian's vampires; he is killed by Niobe, who stabs him through the heart with a wooden stake.
- Cujo — the leader of the Merovingian's werewolves; he is killed by being impaled on a wooden stake in the dungeons of the chateau.
- The Twins — employees of the Merovingian, they are encountered as the player leaves the chateau; they chase the players down a long tunnel, before they are finally evaded.
- Sewing Woman — a character featured in the multiplayer mode of the game.
Connections to the films[edit]
Enter the Matrix was designed, like The Animatrix, to be an integral part of the Matrixmilieu. The game includes one hour of live action 35 mm film footage written and directed specifically for the game by The Wachowskis. The martial arts moves and game enginecutscenes feature actions motion captured directly from the films' actors and stunt doubles to recreate their unique fighting style, and were created under the supervision of the series' fight scene choreographer Yuen Woo-ping.
The player learns that Neo is not the only target of Persephone's predilection for trading kisses for esoteric information; Niobe and Ghost are both put into positions where they must submit to her whims in order to gain critical information. Significant also to the continuity of the Matrix universe is the first appearance of actress Mary Alice in the role of the Oracle. Gloria Foster, the original actress, had died of complications related to diabetes early in the production of The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. She had filmed her scenes for Reloaded, but was yet to complete her work on Revolutions. The game includes a sequence specifically explaining her change of appearance, as a result of an attack on her by the Merovingian. The Merovingian's attack was facilitated by a sacrificial trade with the compassionate program Rama-Kandra. The Merovingian acquired the deletion codes for the Oracle's external 'shell', and in exchange, he gave Rama-Kandra's daughter, Sati, her freedom, despite her lack of purpose in the machine world. The Oracle foretells, however, that Sati will play an important role in both the Matrix and the real world.

By February 2004, global sales of Enter the Matrix across all systems had surpassed 4 million units, according to Atari. Italy made up just under 150,000 units of this figure.[39] By July 2006, the PlayStation 2 version of Enter the Matrix had sold 1.2 million copies and earned $58 million in the United States. Next Generation ranked it as the 39th highest-selling game launched for the PlayStation 2, Xbox or GameCube between January 2000 and July 2006 in that country. Combined sales of Enter the Matrix console releases reached 1.9 million units in the United States by July 2006.[40] Worldwide, the game sold 5million units.[2]
Enter the Matrix received 'mixed or average' reviews according to video game review aggregatorMetacritic.[35][36][37][38]
Two critics from Electronic Gaming Monthly gave it 'bad' scores; another later admitted that his 'average' score for the game was more positive than the game actually deserved. Mark MacDonald's comments were especially scathing:
Windows system32 logilda.dll not found. logilda.dll build 1903,.
'In more than 20 years of playing games, I have never seen a console game as obviously unfinished and rushed to market as Enter the Matrix. [..] This game is a complete mess, and that's the only thing complete about it.'[7]
GameSpot listed Enter the Matrix in several of their 'Dubious Honors' lists at the end of 2003, including their five most disappointing titles of the year.[41] One common complaint was that players wanted to play as trilogy protagonist Neo rather than secondary characters Ghost and Niobe, an issue Shiny Entertainment addressed with their later Matrix game Path of Neo.
Steven Poole, in his column in Edge, described the PS2 version of Enter the Matrix as 'Max Payne with celebrity scriptwriters,' and said that the films' fluid fight choreography could not be matched by the game's control system, and that the game's centred view, while practical, was not as interesting as the 'kinetic montage' of camera angles used in the movies' action scenes. He also expressed other concerns:
'The most worrying new precedent that Enter the Matrix sets, though, with its massively hyped synergy and narrative overlap with Reloaded, is that it seems the film itself has been deliberately made to suffer, to donate some of its lifeblood so that its vampiric brood can feed on it. In Reloaded, Niobe and her crew go to blow up the nuclear power plant, a feat of security bypassing which would presumably require something like a lobby scene squared. Instead, we see nothing until they are already in the control room. Why? Because that's what you get to do in the game instead. The film's sense of rhythm and victory over threat is compromised just so we can bash buttons on our consoles at home. It's as though James Cameron had cut footage out of Aliens so that it could be rendered in blocky 2D graphics in the 1987 Spectrum/C64tie-in game released by Electric Dreams — which remains, actually, a superior film-to-game conversion.'[6]
Positive comments came from IGN, Game Informer, and Nintendo Power, with NP stating, 'its game play suffers from repetition, but this two-disc technomelange has tons of great stuff for Matrix fans.'[25] IGN's review, while mixed, praised its presentation and sound, stating that 'you can't get much better than having the [Wachowskis] filming your cutscenes,' and 'Kudos to the sound team for bringing the movie audio to life in the game. Excellent sound design, and a great score.' The IGN review also said:
'Things could have been much better with a few more months in development. That said, the story elements and the way the [Wachowskis] tie together the Matrix movies, the Animatrix shorts, and the game is exceptional. Not being able to slip into the black robes of the movie's principal characters is a bummer, but there's no denying that playing through Enter the Matrix will actually increase your appreciation of the Matrix universe as a whole.'
They also praised the GameCube version, specifically:
'A big 'thank you' to Atari and Shiny for making sure that Nintendo's little cube didn't get shafted. The GameCube version actually ships on two disks to accommodate all the video and audio content. DPLII, progressive scan, DIVX compression — it's all used to full effect to make sure the GameCube version is as good as it can be.'
Even non-video game publications gave the game some positive acclaim. Maxim gave it a score of eight out of ten and said it was 'by no means a weak attempt to cash in on a franchise..Gamers not only get tons of extra movie action but also get to run, kick, and shoot in a fully realized Matrix universe.'[42]Entertainment Weekly gave it a B and said that it 'wants to be so many different games that it doesn't excel at any one of them.'[30]The Cincinnati Enquirer gave it three-and-a-half stars out of five and said that the game 'isn't a perfect slice of interactive entertainment, but it does provide at least a dozen hours of action-packed fun and serves as a clever vehicle to expand on the events in 'The Matrix Reloaded.'[29]The Village Voice, however, gave it six out of ten and stated: 'Nerds may activate two-player mode using the DOS-throwback 'hacking gameplay element.' If any of you figure out how to boff Trinity during a rave, please e-mail me.'[43]

Secret Combat Moves[edit]
There are several combat moves that they don't tell you about in the manual or in the strategy guide. I have found a few:
- Custom combosYou can use combos of punches AND kicks instead of punches OR kicks. You can even add a throw to the end of some. Try these:
CIRCLE, CIRCLE, TRIANGLE, TRIANGLE
CIRCLE, TRIANGLE, TRIANGLE, DOWN + CIRCLE + TRIANGLE - Gun throwsEquip a gun and approach and enemy. Push Punch +Kick to perform a throw. Your character will pump a few rounds into them. You can shoot agents this way.
- Gun countersWhen fighting hand-to-hand, push the fire button, and your character will pull out the gun, shoot the enemy, and exit hand-to-hand combat mode. You can shoot agents this way too.
- Lethal unequipApproach an enemy, barehanded. (This enemy must have a gun other than a pistol) Tap focus and action. Your character will take the gun right out of his hands and use it against him. Ghost always leaves the enemy dead after this move, and Niobe does 50% of the time.
- Defeat agentsYou can defeat an agent by using 3 shots from the grenade launcher or three offensive grenades (the latter is more difficult) or any combination, as long as you hit him with three. Then, you can take his gun. It is the .50AE, the best pistol in the game.
Unlock Everything[edit]
With any game save file on your memory card, select 'Hacking' from the main menu and choose your save file. Press any key and when 'A:' appears press and hold L2 + R2, L1 + R1 -- you should see the following message:
A:> All files unlocked. Remember to remove this feature from the final version!
A:> All files unlocked. Remember to remove this feature from the final version!
Killing Agents[edit]
The agents can actually die if you manage to shoot them enough times with the grenade launcher.
Agent Busting[edit]
This works on levels where bottomless pits are available (like falling off a skyscraper).
The trick is knock Agents off buildings, if they manage to grab the edge simply shoot them a few times and Agents will attempt to dodge. Instead, they tend to let go of the ledge and fall off.

Hacking Shortcut[edit]
Instead of typing in Yes or No you can simply type the letters Y or N. It saves time if you have several lines of code to enter.
See Revolutions Trailer[edit]
Beat the game to see a sneak peek of The Matrrix: Revolutions.
Dispense Powerade[edit]
Go to any of the Powerade machines you see in the game and press the Action button to dispense a beverage.
Cheat Warning[edit]
If you are having problems with your game freezing up on you, make sure you are not playing with any cheats enabled. The game has been known to lock up (Airport Level is a good example), when certain cheats (All Guns cheat especially) are employed.
Hear Message From Morpheus[edit]
Go to the Hacking menu and tyep LOGIN. When that selection appears on the Command List, move over to LOGIN and click it. Login as COWBOYCURTIS or FREEMIND to unlock Morpheus samples. Press the numbers indicated to hear the samples.
