Last year Arma 3 [official site] was in the process of getting AT-ATs, thanks to a Star Wars-themed mod. The mod was eventually abandoned by its creator, McRuppertle, but he’s uploaded footage from the first in-game test for people to peer at:
Now, obviously this year is going to involve an escalating level of Star Wars talk thanks to The Force Awakens and Battlefront so before we dive into that I’m just going to tell you what’s bothered me for decades about AT-ATs.
The name AT-AT stands for All Terrain Armored Transport. All terrain. The Empire needed something that would go across all manner of terrain without incident and their solution was to build a ponderous metal camel instead of a highly stable futuristic megatank.
Battlefront has it plodding through the forest and everyone’s all “Ooooh, an AT-AT” and I’m staring at fallen trees wondering if it’s just going to trip up or something.
Like, I get that it’s supposed to be able to crush stuff under its footpads and toe flaps and that they’re clanking round in extreme armored glee but it just seems like such a needlessly complex design, with so many bits that can go wrong. Also there will be elements of terrain which can’t be crushed. What about steep hills covered with unstable rocks? There are also a whole bunch of obvious weak points AND a ridiculously high centre of gravity which renders the entire thing stupidly unstable.
Luckily for the walker in McRuppertle’s video the terrain is flat and unproblematic. Unluckily there is a plane which is all too happy to demonstrate the high centre of gravity issue.

The new major overhaul of this update includes 6 divisions, ARC Troopers, and named clones. The list is below.
- Clone Troopers (Shiny) - 100 Generic
- 501st Legion - 11 Named - 25 Generic
- 212th Attack Battalion - 3 Named - 25 Generic
- 104th Woflpack - 4 Named - 25 Generic
- 41st Elite Corps - 4 Named - 25 Generic
- 327th Star Corps - 4 Named - 25 Generic
- Shock Troopers - 6 Named - 25 Generic
- ARC Troopers - 7 Named, 5 Sergeants, 10 Lieutenants, 5 Captains, and 2 Commanders
- Extra Commanders - 12 Named
- Extra Troopers - 16 Named
- And more in the future if requested!
Whats inside the named troops? They all have matching armor to the best I could do and descriptions on what rank and division they're from. Almost all named troopers also have a memorable quote they once said.
Clones also now have their division name and flags with matching color if they're in one of the major six, example: CT 'Nickname' 1234][501-ST
----
What's required? Only three mods are needed for this character pack! And the optional 'fix' for WOTC with the Halo Reach Helmets.
Note: The ARC Trooper is still required with the normal pack because of some named characters using their armor.

- Halo Reach Helmets (WOTC Fix) - https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1124401136 - Bugs: Only the Scarf doesn't work and the armor appears to be darker then usual, this may make named troopers with shiny armor mixed look too bright and scarfed trooper only having black textures on their top torso.

Flags are in place to easily identify which is which.
FLAGS: Everything else: South Korea, 501st: Scotland, 212th: Spain, 41st: Nigeria, 104th: Greece, 327th: Belgium, Shock: Canada, and ARC: Japan.
Those letters don't mean nothing.
Ranks: CT = Trooper, CC = Captain, Commander, CL = Lieutenant, CST = Shock Trooper, CS = Sergeant

Some additional notes--
If an update is released from the workshop creators with more armor pieces then I'll try my best to update them, but making this mod alone was already hard work so don't expect it to happen.
The 41st Elite Corps is suppose to be grey with phase two but I decided to make this green to not conflict with wolfpack.
A few of the divisions have been cut such as the 91st, Doom's platoon, and 332nd. I might make them in the future but I didn't want to make it too cluttered. For now the commanders of a few cut divisions are in 'Extra Commanders.'
Some of the named troopers are from legends and I planned on adding a few more, including ones from the TV Series, but my reason for not adding literally everyone was because they didn't feel notable to add and most of the time just died instantly.
A fun thing I recommend is playing this with only 'Shinies' and once they get a nickname assign them to a squad within LW2 and mark them with colors, this is a unique experience that makes you feel for the troopers and actually promote them to commanders.
I don't know what else to put here other than to enjoy the game with the republic army and that i'm not responsible for any death.
Arma 3 is quite an interesting beast. When everything comes together, it grants users a hardcore experience that can’t be found in its contemporaries. There are also a healthy amount of mods for the title that help with aspects like the bloated UI or adds new content, like the Star Wars mod from a few years ago. One such content mod aims to convert the game into a full-fledged Halo title, and the result looks pretty awesome.

The Arma 3mod is titled Operation Trebuchet, and is based around the period before humanity made contact with the Covenant. Instead of placing players in the boots of Spartan soldiers, the mod will instead focus on Marines, which the developers hope will show a more brutal side of the Halo universe than what has been seen in the past.
For players that are hungering for grounded Spartan combat, the team is also working on First Contact, an expansion for the Operation Trebuchet mod that follows the story of the UNSC’s first encounters with the Covenant. Download far cry 3 pc completo portugues gratis free. The Arma 3 mod’s developers do warn, however, that First Contact will take longer to develop and is mostly a fan service side project. However, major bugs and other glaring issues should be taken care of quickly. Both projects are currently in their alpha phases, so players shouldn’t expect a completely polished experience quite yet.
The mod is being developed under Microsoft’s “Game Content Usage Rules”, which should keep the project from being pulled down for legal reasons, so long as the developer doesn’t try to monetize the mod. This is an issue that has been a concern for things like the Ocarina of Time fan remake.
Needless to say, the mod looks great. It should be a neat experience for any Halo fans with a gaming PC, especially those anticipating more information about Halo Infinite, the next entry in the franchise. Hopefully, the Arma 3 mod team is able to expand on the idea even further and include other aspects of the Halo mythos. The series has a massive amount of lore, so there are certainly a ton of different things the team could do in the future.
